I'm Daniel Wright, a freelance software developer based in Austin, Texas. I work remotely, which means I work from everywhere: coffee shops, co-working spaces, airports, hotel rooms, and occasionally my actual home office. This lifestyle has made me unusually dependent on reliable charging solutions.
How This Started
In early 2022, I had a charger fail during a critical client video call. My laptop died twenty minutes in, and I spent the rest of the meeting apologizing from my phone while trying to find an outlet and a working charger. The charger that failed had hundreds of positive reviews. Clearly, those reviewers hadn't used it for more than a few days.
That evening, I ordered three different chargers determined to never repeat that experience. What started as personal research became something of an obsession. I started documenting my findings, comparing notes with other remote workers in my network, and eventually decided to share what I'd learned.
My Approach
I don't do quick reviews. Every device featured here has been in my daily rotation for at least three months, usually longer. I want to know what happens after the new-product shine wears off. Does the cable stay secure after hundreds of insertions? Does the battery capacity hold up after six months? Does customer support actually respond when something goes wrong?
I buy everything myself. No free samples, no affiliate relationships that might bias my opinions. When I recommend something, it's because I'd buy it again with my own money. When I warn against something, it's because I wasted my own money learning that lesson.

All of these need power, often simultaneously. My reviews reflect this multi-device reality that many tech workers share.
Beyond Charging
When I'm not testing charging devices or writing code, I enjoy hiking the trails around Austin, attempting to smoke brisket with varying success, and playing guitar badly but enthusiastically. I'm also slowly working through learning Spanish, which has nothing to do with chargers but feels like something you should know about the person whose recommendations you might follow.
